The Tarrant County Public Health Department has released a measles exposure warning following their statement that an individual who tested positive for the virus had been in Grapevine previously month. according to KXAS-TV.
Health authorities stated that the individual who had an infection was capable of spreading it during their stay at the Great Wolf Lodge hotel and water park from March 28 to 30.
According to KXAS, the individual also went to Grapevine Mills Mall on March 29, strolled through the mall, and had their meal at the food court.
If you were present at either location during the specified timeframe and are not vaccinated or uncertain about your vaccination status, you may be susceptible to contracting measles, according to authorities.
Individuals who are either expecting or have weakened immune systems and aren't vaccinated should reach out to their healthcare provider right away, according to officials.
People who were present at these locations should watch for the following symptoms from now until April 20:
- Fever above 101 degrees
- Cough
- Congested nose or watery eyes
- A reddish, uneven skin eruption starting from the scalp, hairline, or back of the ears and extending downward across the body.
Great Wolf Lodge provided this statement to KDFW:
“ Ensuring the safety and welfare of both our visitors and team members remains our primary focus. We are cooperating fully with the Tarrant County Health Department regarding an individual who visited our property possibly carrying measles earlier this month. According to health officials, based on how the virus spreads and the period during which the affected person was present at our facility, there is currently no cause for alarm among present or prospective guests staying here. ”
