ABILENE, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – The City of Abilene has released a statement assuring residents that water from the Abilene Public Water System is safe for consumption.
The statement clarifies that the recent water samples being discussed were taken from the wastewater treatment plant, not from the city’s drinking water supply or distribution system.
We recognize that concerns might emerge during illness outbreaks," the statement reads, "however, there is no proof connecting Abilene’s drinking water to any recent gastrointestinal ailments.
The City emphasized maintaining proper disinfection levels throughout the drinking water system and conducting rigorous routine testing to ensure water quality and safety. Officials confirmed no violations or signs of contamination in the drinking water.
