Bryan, TX (KBTX) – There have been 59 additional confirmed cases of measles in Texas since the previous update on Tuesday provided by the Texas Department of State Health Services .
The epidemic in Texas started more than two months ago, with a cumulative total of 481 cases since then.
Out of the total 481 cases in Texas, 157 were identified in children aged from birth to 4 years old. Additionally, there are 180 cases among individuals between the ages of 5 and 17.
471 instances are indicated by the Texas Health and Human Services Department To either lack vaccinations or have an undefined vaccination status.
As of now this year, there have been 607 cases nationwide.
According to the World Health Organization, instances in Mexico are directly connected to the outbreak in Texas.
A recent study in Mexico Funding from the Ministry of Health in Mexico via the National Institute of Public Health, along with support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, revealed declining immunity against measles among Mexican adults aged 20 to 49.
