John Cena has disclosed that he had earlier received an unexpected revelation cancer diagnosis after years of being overlooked.
During an interview with People, Cena stated that he believed he would remain unaffected by it.
He mentioned that he had always chosen not to use sunscreen, even with regular sun exposure since his move from New York to. Florida .
Cena mentioned, "I was being obstinate. I didn't wish to establish a regimen, and I believed the issue would never affect me."
'And it's one of those things where I had a ton of exposure with minimal protection and it caught up with me,' he reveals.
I only began using sunscreen regularly after visiting a dermatologist for a skin examination and having a cancerous spot removed from my chest area ['right pec']. It was then that Cena started applying sunscreen.
Although he managed to get rid of the spot without any problems, the wrestling icon was advised to see a skin specialist.
Cena also commended his dermatologist, acknowledging how lucky he was to have such a supportive specialist during everything.
A year later, he needed to get another mole removed, which resulted in a scar near his right shoulder.
When asked for his advice on using sunscreen, the 47-year-old remarked, "Applying sunblock is something you should do to enable yourself to stay as you are for an extended duration."
We all enjoy venturing outdoors when the sun shines and soaking up everything this planet offers. Simply take that additional step.
This has led him to join forces with skincare brand Neutrogena to introduce a protective lotion featuring an SPF of 70+.
As stated by the well-known skincare company Nivea, a sunscreen with SPF 50 offers roughly 98% defense against UVB rays, compared to about 96.7% protection offered by sunscreens with an SPF rating of 30.
Regardless of the product that sun-seekers end up purchasing no level of SPF protection can be guaranteed to protect you from skin damage caused by excessive exposure to the sun.
The advice from the NHS indicates: 'Being sunburned raises your chances of developing skin cancer. Sunburn isn’t something that only occurs during vacations. In the UK, you can get burnt even on overcast days.'
'Getting a tan safely or healthily isn’t possible. A tan doesn’t shield your skin from the damaging impacts of the sun.'
The recommendation also states that you should choose an SPF of at least 30 to shield from UVB rays along with at least 4-star UVA protection.
