HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — According to her mother, at just three years old, Brailynn Camille was hardly able to construct a full sentence.
"Indeed, we went through tough periods, particularly when she was unable to speak or comprehend me, and vice versa," stated Brittnie Legacy.
Brailynn struggled to concentrate and react to her parents' guidance. Although she was identified as autistic, her mother saw this diagnosis as an encouraging opportunity.
It's been quite an adventure ride, which can be tough at times, yet largely, it has imparted many lessons," Legacy stated. "I believe I've shared more wisdom with her than what she's passed onto me.
At the age of 13, Legacy mentioned that due to early intervention services, Brailynn not only started speaking and comprehending but also developed writing skills. In her writings, Brailynn expressed her feelings about the challenge of being accepted by children her own age.
All of the kids didn't bully me at all," Brailynn stated. "Instead, they made me feel more confident and focused.

Leveraging her talent for writing, Brailynn’s parents encouraged her to channel her process of self-acceptance into penning a book titled "Brailynn’s First Day of School."
However, that was not the end of it.
Brailynn continued her writing journey and transformed her curiosity into a collection of published books titled 'The Ausome Kid,' which narrates her experiences with acceptance. She hopes these stories will encourage individuals on the autism spectrum to embrace their challenges and find courage.
“Because the kids were very nice to me and that inspires me the most and sometimes, I feel nervous but I’m brave and I will be ok,” Brailynn shouted.
Legacy said that Brailynn is now on book number six, and this yea,r she became a member of the basketball team at Challenger Middle School.
