The Tarrant County Public Health department reported on Friday that an individual who visited two sites in Grapevine from March 28 to 30 has been diagnosed with measles.
As stated in a press statement from TCPH, an individual had been present at the Great Wolf Lodge situated at 100 Great Wolf Drive during the period starting late Thursday, March 27 through early Monday, March 31. According to TCPH, this same individual strolled around Grapevine Mills Mall and dined in the mall’s food court area on Saturday, March 29th.
"Should you have been present at one of these places on the mentioned dates and aren’t vaccinated against measles or are uncertain about your immunity, you might be susceptible to catching measles," stated TCPH in the press release.
TCPH mentioned that they are collaborating with the Texas Department of State Health Services Regional Office and other entities to keep track of the situation.
Over 450 instances of measles have been documented in Texas. including six located in North Texas , and a kid in Lubbock has passed away due to the virus , health officials said.
On March 13, officials with the Paris-Lamar County Health District confirmed five cases of measles , and Rockwall County documented a single case. in late February.
TCPH suggests that if you visited these locations on the specified dates, you should watch out for signs of measles until April 20th. Symptoms may start with a high temperature over 101°F, accompanied by a persistent cough, runny nose, or pink eye inflammation. This will likely be succeeded by a spreading reddish rash starting from the scalp area and behind your ears before moving downward across your body.
TPCH stated that if you encounter any of these symptoms, remain at home and contact your healthcare provider for advice.
