Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty Gives Honest Alzheimer’s Update

Phil Robertson It seems like his health isn't getting better.

Months after the Duck Dynasty star’s son Jase Robertson mentioned that his father was battling Alzheimer’s disease , it appears little has changed about the 78-year-old’s condition.

"The most common question I receive wherever I go is: 'How’s your father?' " Jase stated during the April 2 episode of the show. Unapologetic about the Robertson Clan Podcast. "Right now, I'll be honest: My response would be 'Not good.'"

Even though the conditions were not ideal, Jase, aged 55, pointed out that his family is dedicated to maintaining a positive outlook.

We're giving our best shot," he went on. "That's all I believe you can really do.

Luckily, Jase had some positive updates to share regarding his mother. Kay Robertson , 77, indicating she was recovering after a fall led to a severe infection necessitating medical care.

For my mother, things have improved significantly over the last week," he shared. "Previously, she wasn’t doing well at all." He continued, "Although she remains hospitalized, the focus now is primarily on physical rehabilitation with an emphasis on helping her regain her ability to eat.

The update was particularly uplifting considering that people close to the matriarch were bracing themselves for the worst.

We were kind of facing the reality that this might be it," Jase admitted openly. "At that time, it felt very near, which made things really tough.

Previously, Jase talked about his father’s struggle with Alzheimer's, mentioning that the condition was still in its early phases. However, he also indicated that this diagnosis seemed to be only part of the issues affecting Phil’s overall health.

"Based on what the doctors say, they're confident that he has some type of blood disorder causing various issues," Jase disclosed in December. episode In the podcast, they discuss how "it has sped up and is now affecting his whole body."

Although there is currently no cure for the condition that gradually erodes an individual's memory, Jase reassured his supporters that his family was doing everything possible to support Phil during this challenging time.

We're attempting numerous strategies to enhance his comfort levels and possibly aid his memory," he went on. "We have a group of physicians who concur that there is no cure for his condition. So, the question remains: What actions can we take? Our aim is to increase his level of comfort.
